Thoughts on Attending BlogHer '13 with a Disability

There are many blog posts about the mega BlogHer event that concluded in Chicago almost two weeks ago. Each one I read was wonderful, detailing the unique camaraderie between bloggers, discussing the brands at the Expo Hall, and summing up what each blogger learned both from the sessions and their own personal experiences. This is an experiment to see if we can get our readers to join in more of a dialogue with us.  We are going to pose a question each week, and see if we can get some interesting responses.  The question for this week is:  “What one news story do you most associate with your early teenage years for you and why?”...more

If you're like me (broke), staying in and seeing a movie (a la Redbox or Netflix) might be a better way to go.Chocolat courtesy of Miramax...more

The One Night Stand I Had With a Dad in My Daughter's Preschool Class

Sounds extremely scandalous, doesn't it? Before you start judging me, I am not a home wrecker. The story is actually quite embarrassing. A few weeks ago I was signing my daughter into her preschool class. Baby on one hip, juggling jackets, sippy cups and a bookbag. I'm not sure if I had even brushed my hair that day. Of course it was a yoga pants and t-shirt day. I looked rough. "Excuse me," I hear. I look up to see -- oh my good Lord NO!...more
