Moving Really Is a Nightmare!

This whole process started 4 or 5 years ago. I lost count a couple of years back. It's been a long journey but it is almost over.We were transferred to South Carolina from Tennessee. Before that, from Texas to Tennessee. My husband works for a world-wide company whose headquarters originated in Irving, Texas. When the company bought another competitors' company, the decision was made to move the headquarters to Ashland City, Tennessee. UGH! Ashland City is north and west of Nashville. I'm a Texas girl and leaving Texas was a very hard thing for me to do....more

You know what? There IS life after elections!

Okay, the elections are over! And there really is life after elections. I poured a lot of my heart and soul into the promotion of my personal candidate. I tolerated the negativity, the name calling, the out and out lies - from both sides....more

Sleepless Monday (or Sleep Deprived Monday and I'm Soooo Tired))

Today is Monday. Did you notice that? Kinda hard not to, huh?My Monday started at 3:15 this morning. I didn't go to sleep until after midnight - so it was, indeed a short night. I have yet to go back to sleep. But it's been a pretty good day, all in all....more

A Restful Weekend - Much Needed

It's Sunday night and I'm sitting with my feet propped up in front of the television. My husband said he was going to fix supper. I'm still waiting. :-) At 7:45 p.m., it's past supper time and I'm ready to eat. Darn it!...more

What a week!

We made it home from Seattle late last night. Only after stopping for supper. Now, we usually eat at particular restaurants in areas where we are unfamiliar with local eateries. Last evening was an exception. And what an exception it was.We pulled into a restaurant called El Agave Mexican Restaurant. We'd never heard of it before but we were hungry for Mexican food and it was "right there". Well the food was awesome! If you're ever in the Raleigh-Durham airport area, look up El Agave. More than worth it. And our meal was less than $25 for two of us!...more

And today I realized . . . . .

Yesterday I started reading posts from women who had been writing for a while and were sharing tips and techniques. I read and read and read. I read til I was bleary-eyed. I even took notes on what I was reading. Then last night, I talked to my husband, over supper, about some of the things I thought about what I had read. I have felt a strong need to write for many years now - mostly about my life experiences and our travels. I mean, what else do I know the most about? The question begged: would anybody read or care? ...more

Seattle

We had a bit of a rough weekend this last weekend. We are still trying to get all of our stuff moved from the old house to the new house. We actually got three loads last week before we had to leave for Raleigh.Saturday, we got and went to a nearby town to our favorite diner, Lynn's Cafe, for breakfast. We went back to the house to change vehicles and get the truck with the trailer to go to the old house. ...more

Today I find myself . . . . . . . .

Confused and a bit lonely.I miss my only child - who lives 1100 miles from me. We were chatting online this morning and she was talking about her plans for the weekend. She's an independent woman and has her own life. I catch myself longing to be more of a part of that life than I am. I really miss her.My husband took me to lunch this afternoon. We enjoyed our meal and our time. ...more
