Fool-Proof Recipe for Incredibly Juicy, Delicious Turkey

What's the biggest complaint about turkey dinners (besides the somnific quality of the tryptophan contained in the main course)? Dry, bland meat. There is nothing worse than eating dry turkey. Unless, of course, the gravy that accompanies it is bland. Ok ok, there are lots of things that are worse. But as far as traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas meals go, serving up a dry bird with bland gravy is practically a cardinal sin....more

10 Things I Will Never Say to My Kids

I realized that the anthems of my generation will likely just be classic rock to my kids. They'll never stand in line at Ticket Master, or "re-dial" a rotary phone for hours trying to get tickets to a band. The more I thought about it, the more things I came up with which my children are not likely to experience. And like that, Laughing Mom's 10 Things I Will Never Say to My Children was written. ...more

Thanksgiving on a Budget

Thanksgiving dinner can get expensive. Think about it: Whether you are serving dinner for two or 22, most people are buying turkey, vegetables, potatoes, dressing, wine, cranberries and pie, at the very least. Fine. Vegetarians don't need the turkey and a lot of you can do without the wine and pie, but a traditional Thanksgiving dinner can be pricey....more

Election Day: Environmental Issues At Stake

I am not a fear monger or a worry wart. But as the presidential election runs out its last 24 hours, I fear that my security and the security of my children are at stake in this election. Are One-Term Presidents the New Trend?

It may seem bold to make presidential predictions four years in advance -- especially during an election cycle when pundits can't even seem to decide what's going to happen tomorrow -- but one thing is for sure: whoever leads the Free World into the next four years is going to have his hands full. So full, in fact, if that man happens to be Mitt Romney, we may very well end up with two one-term presidents in a row. ...more

Afraid to Voice Your Political Opinion?

I am. I'm getting more vocal, but I've kept quiet pretty much to hubby the entire election season but I can no longer do so. I listen to his attempts to justify why I should vote for Mitt Romney. His main reason all along is that he worked his way out of the ghetto to grow a business that will be penalized if Obama is elected by hitting us harder with taxes. That's a pretty valid reason, but not enough. I'm considering the future of the entire country, not just us, in deciding who to vote for. ...more
