Hello! My name is Kait Turshen, also known as Bubble Girl. After spending my twenties plagued with constant fatigue, nausea, anxiety, depression, bloating, and weight fluctuation, I finally uncovered the reasoning for this continual state of misery. It turned out that I had a long list of food allergies I'd never known about. To be precise, I have thirty food allergies as well as dozens of environmental allergies.
From then forward I was known as Bubble Girl, a nickname my mother lovingly coined after declaring I had so many allergies that I should live in a bubble. But rather than retreating to a socially awkward bubble, I started the the blog Bubble Girl Bakes, which is dedicated to providing gluten free, allergen free, vegan recipes.
And it turns out that I'm not the only Bubble person out there. In fact, over 15 million Americans suffer from food allergies; one in every thirteen children. And the more I wrote, the more I realized there wasn't much awareness surrounding the topic. And I also realized that I was very passionate about spreading the food allergy word, so I fused my long time love of baking with raising food allergy awareness and my first product was born, BG Bakes Gluten Free All-Purpose Flour.
