Tasty Treats and a GIVEAWAY

Hungry Woman

Friday.  This week flew by.  I’m not sure I want my life to FLASH before my eyes like that.  Today I had an extra 45 minutes in bed and then Shane and I ran 5 miles.  Last run before SHOW TIME!   It was 46 degrees.  I wore light gloves and a head band for my ears.  A long sleeve shirt with a rain jacket to cover and long pants.  Luckily, it had stopped raining.  When we went to bed last night, it was falli...more

It's A Wrap

Exercise in review: How’s your running, cross training, walking, biking, swimming going?  I left out skiing although the weather this past week certainly leaves that as an option in many places.  As for me, all running goals have been met except for the 60 minute run Saturday. I’m looking forward to that one even though the weather is suppose to be back into the teens....more

A Yogurt Experiment

http://www.applecrumbles.com Geesh! My foot was so sore today!   I thought running caused bottom of the foot problems but I seem to have a top of the foot problem.  It’s so achy but there is no swelling and no bruise.  Fingers crossed that this will be another one of those pains that just goes away as quick as it came on.  I keep putting BioFreeze on it....more

http://www.applecrumbles.com I get some thought inducing emails from My Inner World.  It’s a really fun place to visit on the web if you need to just sit back, catch your breath and have a bit of fun.  On March 2nd, this message showed up: “Every Moment Counts”.  It is easy to forget that our greatest point of power is in the pre...more

Oatmeal Cookie Mix

http://www.applecrumbles.com Happy St.Patrick’s Day! Cross Training means you do something different from the event you are training for.  At least that’s what it means to me.  Since I am training to run longer races, my cross training days are spent doing anything BUT running, however may involve the occasional jog here and there.   Tuesday was a 55 minute cross training day which involved the following mix: <...more

Running, Natural Food and Green Beer

http://www.applecrumbles.com The scheduled 75 minute run was a success. It was windy: ESE at 20mph gusting to 31mph.  But it wasn’t that cold, about 40 deg. The weather channel said it feels like 31 but when you’re running, that’s irrelevant.  We took it slow. Shane was anxious to get home. Today was bath day....more

Edamame Sweet Potato and Feta

http://www.applecrumbles.com Adjusting  the schedule for the anticipated weather, I did my 15 mile run today.  15.23 miles at an average pace of 9.73.  I felt good and decided instead of the scheduled 75 minute run, I’d go for the long haul today.  So 11 treadmill miles and 4.23  road miles, not bad and I’m saving my legs by getting part of the run done on the mill.  When the warmer weather hits, I’ll be doing more road miles so I’m in no hurry.  Short recap of the run:  At mile 2.75...more
