Danger Will Robinson, Danger! Mother-in-Law arriving Soon!

pm by Michele | Edit robotBetty, my MIL, has decided that she won’t travel anymore; at least not by herself. No this is Evelyn’s MIL, who is also called Evelyn and now, for the sake of clarity, will be called E2. I have been told by many people that E2 is a perfectly delightful older woman, who makes Martha Stewart look like a slacker....more

I think it has more to do with so very badly wanting the approval of the MIL. My MIL has NEVER ...more

Slip slidin' away

When I first met Doug he had a perm. Now of course I didn’t realize that the night we met. All I knew was that he had curly hair. That next morning after our shower I watched with great interest as he stood there with a pick, arranging his curls for at least 10 minutes. I was fascinated. (By the time I met Doug I had surrendered to the will of my hair. It was just wash and go for me.)  So watching a guy fiddle with his hair I found really interesting. Difficult to imagine that now, when it seems like everywhere you go you’re bombarded by advertising about panty liners, pads or tampons. I remember the first time I was sitting next to my boyfriend and an ad (probably for Kotex) came on TV....more

In the meantime, we’ve been eating out a lot since I have no kitchen; and while at a restaurant the other night, I got perturbed about something. Was it the food? No. Was it the service? No. It was the bathroom. Was it dirty? No. Was it out of TP? No. So what what is you ask?...more

Michele AKA Goldilocks

We’re in the market for a new mattress. When we were deciding what to put into storage before moving a few weeks ago, our mattress didn’t make the cut. It was a great mattress when new- almost 20 years ago....more
