I will never forget that day in 4th grade at Sarepta Elementary School. I was one of three Black students in the class and had been called on to read. The word that I misread was "come". Last night, I decided that I was going to take a little break from my personal Facebook account because I mistakenly thought that it was distracting me from what I need to be doing. The truth is, the real "problem" was that I was seeing things that I didn't want to see. I have no control over those things but they affect me directly and I was a little pissed.
