2016 Blogging and Social Media Predictions

2015 was a big year for blogging and social media. New social media platforms came out, others faded away, while others are watching their popularity dwindle. More people became full-time bloggers as a career and started offering webinars and consulting courses to help others follow their dream of becoming their own bosses. Blogging and social media began more widely accepted as a career path, as opposed to just a passing fad or hobby. I have a feeling that 2016 will be an even bigger year for the blogging and social media industry. Here is my round up for predictions for 2016. ...more

20 Songs I Couldn't Get Enough Of In 2015

Music is my life. When I was young, I would dance around my bedroom, belting out the latest hot song and pretending I was on stage. I mean every pre-teen did that right? Let’s just say, my music career didn’t take off. I can’t sing. I can’t dance. And I couldn’t figure out how to play an instrument, except for the flute until 8th grade. I wasn’t good at that either. I did rock at the recorder though. ...more

8 Things I’ve Learned from Instagram Over the Last Three Years

When I got my first iPhone in 2012, the very first app I downloaded was Instagram. Instagram launched in October of 2010, and quickly grew in popularity. By the time I joined in 2012, it already had over 100 million active users. For someone like me who was forever filling up their phones with images, this was an app I knew I would never be without. Sure, I posted most of them to Facebook, but now I could have an app that was dedicated to my love of images. ...more

My Top Reads of 2015

I can't believe it's already the time of year to do a round up of my favorite reads from 2015. It feels like I just posted last year's list (no link, on the old blog). It's been a busy year between work, photography and beginning my brand new blog, and my reading took a bit of my back seat....more

10 Thoughts I Would Tell My Younger Self

Life goes by in an instant. It seems like just yesterday I turned 18 and was heading off to my freshman year of college at Westfield State University. Now, I’m just 6 months away from leaving my twenties....more

6 Goals to Accomplish Before I Turn 30

In exactly six months, I turn 30. It hadn’t really hit me that my twenties are about to come to close, until today. I thought at some point this year, I might start fretting about it, but to this point, it hasn’t happened. Quite honestly, I don’t think it will....more

TODAY'S TASK: Get Your Instagram Feed Holiday Ready

My goal for the 2015 holiday season is to make my Instagram a bit more "holiday-ready." Instead of snapping and posting, I want to slowly create a holiday presence on my feed, and make it feel just as cozy as my home. I want you to look at my feed and think "I definitely want to curl up by her fireplace with a mug of hot chocolate and a warm blanket." ...more

The Fear of Failure

I mentioned in a recent post about how the fear of failure has held me back chasing a dream. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that fear has always played a huge factor in my life. More than likely my fears stem from my anxiety....more

8 Ways to Calm Anxiety (and Keep the Anxiety Monster Away)

Anxiety can be brutal. From now on, I'm going to refer to anxiety as "the anxiety monster" because when I'm having a high-anxiety day, it feels like I'm being tormented by that pesky monster that hides in the closet when you're a kid. (Weird analogy? Perhaps. But we're going to roll with it.) I've discussed my own battle on my blog, and I'm planning on writing a follow up post to that in the coming days, but for now I wanted to focus on different methods I use to help calm my ever-present anxiety and keep the anxiety monster at bay. ...more

September Reads {2015}

As much as I love fall, I’m kind of struggling with it. Whenver someone asks me what my favorite season is, I usually answer fall. But then I immediately start explaining why, and then it becomes this whole long explanation of how I also love spring and summer. I should probably just start saying, I love all of the seasons except winter....more
