Spring is coming!

Well, Spring is just around the corner, but, the way winter is lately, it makes you wonder if it will come around or not. This year, I am actually looking forward to it. I have plans and made up my mind on something. I decided to go ahead and turn my enclosed side porch into a little store. The porch is not very big and I think what will make it special is the fact it will be cozy. It will mean that I won't be able to display as much as a regular store would but it will make it look like a great turn over more often that a regular store. So I guess I can use my basement as a storage area....more

Tragic Event

Last night I was sitting on the sofa when I  heard sirens. A feeling came over me and closed my eyes and prayed whoever it was in need was ok. After realizing 10 minutes of sirens showed no sign of stopping, I decided to turn my scanner on. I didn't get much information except that the emergency personel requested several medvacs, 4 in total. I ran downstairs and told my inlaws that there was a terrible accident nearby and that I hoped it wasn't someone we knew. I felt such an uneasy feeling. I ran back upstairs to listen some more....more

To hoard or not to hoard...that is the question!

I have to write a little something about hoarding! Honestly, what do people get from hoarding junk? Is hoarding like saving that dollar for a rainy day? What's up with that? About 5 years ago my husband and I decided to move in with our in-laws because of the hardship they were having to live with. I wasn't planning on living with them forever, like many other wives I was hoping some day I would have my own little castle, but, for now that is not happening and sometimes I feel like it is never going to happen....more

I've been having headaches since I was a child. My mother would take me to see many doctors only to have pain killers and allergy medicine prescribed. Unfortunately, whether it be tylenol or advil or allergy medicine nothing worked. So of course there came the MRI and CatScans and nothing was found. As I became an adult I decided to stop taking whatever doctors prescribed. I kept a diary of my headaches. I finally figured out what my problem was, and too be sure of my DIY self-diagnosis, lol, I looked for a specialist to confirm my discovery....more

Canadian Thanksgiving

My husband thinks he is the luckiest man because he gets to celebrate 2 Thanksgiving Days a year, mine and his. Last week I invited friends and neighbors to come celebrate Thanksgiving with me. It was a joyous time for us all. About 20 people showed up, every one brought a dish. There was enough food to feed an army as the saying would go. We started the celebration at noon and ended it at 10:00 P.M. Since the weather was beautiful we set out a picnic table and placed all the food on it. Strangers walking by would glance and of course we'd invite them to have a bite with us....more

Community Pets

Every morning between 5:00 A.M and 7:00 A.M my neighbors and I meet at the picnic table for coffee and tea. It is something we started 4 years ago.  Rain or shine, cold or hot, you are guaranteed to find us starting with good conversation and laughter. Our group is anywhere from 3 to 10 great folk, young and old. We are a family. We also include pets in our little circle of friends. These pets unfortunately are abandoned, lost and homeless. This summer an old rugged dog found his way to our picnic table hungry and in desperate need of human compassion....more

Know this before you sign up for an e-store

Before you sign up with a website that will set you up with an estore, hear my story. Back in March of this year, I signed up with a company, for a small monthly fee I can just place my drop shippers items with just a click of a mouse. The best part about going with an estore was the fact it would save me a lot of time and I didn't have to worry about working hours on building my own template. This company I signed up with had many templates to choose from. It was pretty I must add. The home page had 5 images (their images) which was perfect for what I was trying to sell....more
