DNA, Genetics and Half-Siblings are all we have to put the Puzzle Pieces together!

Finding half-siblings for my kids has been very important for me, in truth it is why I started blogging, in almost every post I would put our donors number (BGM 9581 by the way) and it is why I joined the DSR (Donor Sibling Registry) before my first was even born.  I feel I have been lucky enough to find two half-sibs. One on the DSR, and one because of my blog....more

Buying and Selling Eggs, Sperm and Embryo's is a crime here in Canada!!!!

Finally after 8 years of the Assisted Human Reproduction Act coming into play the police are laying down the law and investigating some questionable  practices in the fertility trade in Canada.  The AHRA act clearly states that the exchange of money for Sperm, Eggs, Embryos or the Services for Surrogate Mothers is a crime here in Canada.  Then why have people been receiving money under the guise of such actions....more

Once Again Women and Their Rights are Violated!

To be completely honest I am not sure I ever have the right words to completely and accurately describe my emotions about some of the disgusting things that are happening in the world.  I do however know that my entire being becomes so enraged I shake when I read all the immoral and brutish things that politicians and governments are getting away with when it comes to violating women and their right’s!...more

TMI...And Every Typed Word Felt Great!

Blog posts are usually very organic for me, they pop into my head and I write them rather quickly with spelling mistakes and bad grammar all included. I then go back and fix my mistakes hoping that the post looks polished and well thought out. This post however is taking its time and feels very forced, it is being typed at my kitchen table with my 22 month old son on my lap, my 3 year old playing next to me chatting away about the most inane things and of course what’s a day without Dora blaring on the tv. I am distracted to say the least....more

I Am the World's Worst Sperm Donor

I came across this story on the THE AWL and I have to say I did not think I was going to be able to finish reading it.  This guy was really pissing me off, how dare he call any children he creates “evil sperm children”!  As a matter of fact reading this story made me feel like puking, but luckily I was able to keep the vomit down and make it to the end where it turns out he was not such a bad guy after all and had some sense of the fact that perhaps he was making a mistake.  Take a read and let me know how it made you feel....more

A Women or A Mom

I have tried to spend my day updating my blog while catering to 3 very bossy, very cute, very active little people.  I realized today that the one page on my blog that could very well be neglected is my ‘A Women’ page.  It seems that all the folklore about how a mom with little kids loses herself and perhaps some of her womanhood is actually true.  I managed to shower today, but couldn’t get time to brush my hair, so its up in its standard bun position, maybe I can brush it tomorrow?...more

Virginia Passes and Absolutely Disgusting Law!

The Virginia House passed a law that makes me so completely ill. I have to admit I read stories like this all the time that come out of the US news and I can not wrap my head around the absolute ridiculousness of the majority of them, including this one. How on earth does any educated person feel that this is acceptable, let alone putting their vote in place in order to make it A LAW!!!! I have to say some days it certainly is easier to keep my head in the sand and shut the world out……...more

A Note To Myself - After a Pregnancy Loss

The following is a note I wrote to myself on October 5th, 2007, 5 months after we lost our little girl Tobee at 5 months into the pregnancy.  I re-read this today while going over some of my notes in an attempt to remember her, the 5 months she was growing inside of me, and the 5 months of ups and downs hoping every time we had an ultrasound (and we had a lot) that her heartbeat was stronger and she was growing bigger and catching up.  Sadly after years of infertility and finally getting pregnant we lost her on June 2, 2007....more

23 Sperm Donor Kids and Counting....

As a mom with donor conceived children I have been doing what I can to put the word out there that I am open to finding half-siblings for my children.  I post on my blog and elsewhere the Sperm Donors ID that we used and up until recently I had found one half-sibling on the DSR and another mom contacted me through my blog that she also had a child using Sperm donor BGM 9581 from Xytex....more
