ring ring ring goes the bell

When I first began this blog there wasn’t much in the way of mama-blogs. Not a lot of photography blogs. Blogging was just a thing, or just beginning to be a thing, and it took off (I think) because it’s like Facebook and Twitter and all those other “social media” things: blogging is a place for ME to write what I need to get off my chest, and feel like SOMEONE is listening ....more

new year’s lesson

Happy New Year! It’s been a thrill ride so far. When my old self would have been drinking champagne with her friends, my mom-self was cleaning 5 people’s throw up off of things ....more

self care (breakfast cookies)

For me, one of the hardest things in my life has always been taking care of myself. I have been good at going out of my way on the family vacation to Michigan in order to see my grandmother with all of my kids because she is so special and won’t be with us forever ....more

one of those weeks

i got, got, got, got no time

Sometimes I’ll run into a friend in a grocery store, these days, and she’ll say to me, “I love your blog!” or maybe “I read your blog all the time!” and I immediately think, “I have a BLOG?” Just kidding. I remember it. Vaguely ....more

brainwashing

When I had Helena, who is almost nine, I immediately began brainwashing her. I think every parent should. Well, probably every parent does, in their way ....more

sleeping like a baby… again

I haven’t been writing. I can’t write right now. I want to so badly, but I have about 20 brain cells left and they’re all keeping my heart and lungs going ....more
