I Wanna Be A Celeb But I Can't Afford The Personal Trainer.....

Kathy Kaehler is Julia Roberts personal trainer and the one responsible for getting her back into shape after babies. She has also shaped up Drew Barrymore. While I was checking out her book on Amazon I realized that used copies are up for bargain prices, as little as 1 cent:   http://www.amazon.com/Kathy-Kaehlers-Celebrity-Workouts-Hollywood/dp/0767916174/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1243309635&sr=8-2 ...more

I Wanna Be A Celeb But I Can't Afford The Personal Trainer......

I am in love with Barry's Bootcamp for an at home tough workout. With the recession many are skipping gym memberships and personal trainers. Well, Barry Jay trains several celebrities including Alison Sweeney,  Katie Holmes, and Jake Gyllenhaal. This is a super tough workout, and the entire set is like having a gym at home. I have been using it since my hubby gave it to me for Mothers Day and it is amazing! ...more

I Wanna Be A Celeb But I Can't Afford The Personal Trainer.....

With Spring finally here, a lot of Bootcamp Workout workshops abound both in Hollywood and our local 'hood. In this economy, doing such a workout at home is so much more economical. I have a great workout for the more advanced exerciser(e.g. some working out, but not hardcore workout fiends). Billy's BootCamp Elite is brought to us by the Tae-Bo king Billy Blanks, it will get your muscles working. Buy the kit with the bands and get a cardio/muscle building workout all in one:   ...more

I Wanna Be A Celeb But I Can't Afford The Facialist......

I have been wanting a Clarisonic facebrush for awhile. As a longtime facialist/cosmetologist I knew it was cutting edge technology. However, the $200.00 plus price tag is just too high for me since I am home on medical leave. I found a great alternative on QVC-the Pretika sonic dermabrasion brush. Sonic facial brushes are purported to cleanse the skin so thoroughly that serums absorb better, makeup goes on more smoothly, and skin troubles clear up. ...more

I wanna be a celeb but I can't afford the personal chef............

I love all incarnations of The Real Housewives. I don't even care where they come from, although the Atlanta Housewives are my favorites so far. I heard Bethanny Frankel from The Real Housewives Of New York was releasing a cook/diet book so I pre-ordered myself a copy. It turned out to be surprisingly good. This is a book I will actually use recipes from. There isn't anything in here that is new-everything in moderation, if you indulge, prepare to cut elsewhere, etc. The recipes were why I bought the book, as Bethanny is a celebrity natural foods chef, and the recipes do deliver. ...more

I wanna be a celeb but I can't afford Botox.......................

I have the perfect low dollar version-Frownies!! I have used these for years and they really do work. They work on the same kind of concept as Botox in that they force you to not use the muscles you crinkle that cause wrinkles. At $12-15 dollars for a month supply they are cheap and if your SO can stand to see you with these things glues to your wrinkle spots, you will see results if crinkling them is what caused your fine lines. Fantastic! http://www.frownies.com/ ...more

I hope they work as well for you as they did for me! I first heard about them from Renee ...more

I wanna be a celeb but I can't afford the makeup artist.......

Okay, here is an oldie but goodie-and do not ask how someone thought of using this product this way! Monistat chafing gel as a makeup primer. Just treat it as you would a normal primer, after moisturizing, before makeup. I never have figured out how people come up with Preparation H for bags under eyes or chafing gel for makeup primer, but they work. These two tips have been under saavy shoppers belts for awhile now, but for those who haven't heard of this yet, here ya go! ...more

I Wanna Be A Celeb But I Am Too Poor To Afford It

We see such gloom and doom in the news. I along with many of my peers often forget that the country has gone through a prosperous time followed by a hard time before. Thanks to Sonya at TPF for posting this:http://www.nytimes.com/indexes/2009/02/22/style/t/index.html#pagewanted=0&pageName=22depression& ...more

I Wanna Be A Celeb But I Can't Afford The Facialist..............................

Some of my readers are from other countries, and certain products I recommend are not available where they live. Today I thought I would compile a list of some ingredients I look for when I am recommending products-so my overseas gals can find stuff that works for them. Retinol-good anti age. If you have sensitive skin prone to breakouts, I have found this to work really well softening lines and clearing blemishes ...more
