Mommy's Girl

Four years ago  today, I almost lost my mom. She was in a snowmobile accident in Chautauqua, New York. She was life flighted to Erie, PA and then came home to Cleveland a couple of weeks later. The night of the accident, I was told her body would be brought home in the morning. But my mom is a fighter and she made it through. It has been a hard four years, there have been many ups and downs along the way, but my mom keeps fighting. She is an inspiration....more

White Gold

I grew up in a suburb of Cleveland. I HATE snow. All my life, I've been fantasizing about living somewhere with white sandy beaches and temps that steady stay above 50 degrees. But then life struck and my daughter came along and my mom was in an accident and I just cannot move away from everyone I love here. But I still have an avid distaste for snow. I hate being cold. I hate how the bottom of my pants end up frozen and salt covered and nasty and wet. I hate going anywhere in the winter. Husband LOVES snow. He is a polar bear, I swear to goodness. He doesn't ever get cold....more

My Crafty Dorkiness

Let's talk for a moment about what a dork I am, and how much I love modge podge. I'm always looking for something I can cover with paint and pictures and modge podge and glitter. So when I was at Michael's using the gift card I got from Father-In-Law for Christmas, I found this not-so-attractive-imo iPhone cover for 99 cents, I was so excited to cover it in primer and paint and whatever else I felt like. Originally, I was going to do a pink, sparkly, glow-in-the-dark case for myself. But I have a lifeproof case, and I need a lifeproof case....more

My Unnatural Fear of Basements

I have today off work (yay!) Husband threatened to hire a girl to do his paperwork if I didn't quit my job and do it all, so we compromised that I would only work outside the house 3 days a week from now on. I swear, he would keep me barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen if he could. Well, maybe not the kitchen... He doesn't really like my cooking. Maybe I should work on that... But I digress......more

First Things First.

Oh, hey. I'm new here. I just wanted to get started by saying hey and giving a little story about myself. As you can read from my profile, I'm 26 and I have a 4 year old daughter named Charlotte and a 7 year old step-daughter named Lynnae. They are pretty rad kids. My husband and I have been together off and on for about 9 years. He is the love of my life, even though sometimes I want to strangle him (this is a normal thing in marriage, so I'm told). :)...more
