WiP Wednesday #4!

Yayy, I'm posting a work-in-progress update and it's still Wednesday!!  Woohoo!   I fell behind when I was sick for a few days (I'm feeling much better, thank you!) and for the past two days I've been trying to play catch-up.  I think I'm just about there finally! I don't have a lot in the way of photographic updates, but I did complete the cross-stitching on block #1 of my embroidered quilt WiP.  That's one block down and 17 left to embroider, before beginning the hand quilting process! ...more

Embroidered quilts

I have discovered embroidered quilts!  Thanks to a Twitter link I came across to the Spring into Summer pattern at Sentimental Stitches, I have another two USOs that will shortly become WIPs! ...more

Thoughts on John 14:6

In my blogging travels today, I came across a  refreshing post that spoke of the exclusivity of Christ.   It instantly reminded me of  what Jesus said on that very subject - a verse with which many are familiar.  Have you ever considered what that verse is really saying?  ...more

Summer Charms - the completed quilt

Quilt #4 is now done.  A friendly nudge got me back to my binding and I did two edges in one night.  I finished the remaining six inches last night, washed and dried it and I now have a summer quilt that I made for myself!  As such, I'm not going to label it, but I am going to record its particulars in my photo portfolio. ...more

By request - some of my early needlework projects

Long before I actually started quilting, I thought about taking it up.  Back when I was a teenager, before rotary cutters and other gadgetry I considered starting a project using scissors and sandpaper templates. Considering I can't cut a straight line with scissors to save my life, it seemed too daunting a task.  I did make myself a small tied quilt for my bed, but it's long gone.  I remember hand sewing it during some pretty hot summer days.  It's the only quilt I've completely done by hand. ...more

You never know when your interest might be renewed though - that project might get finished yet! ...more

Man Quilter = Oxymoron?

Are You a Disciple?

Lu 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. Lu 14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. Joh 6:66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Joh 6:67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? ...more

Starching quilt blocks?

I'm falling behind on finishing the binding on Summer Charms - I still have two sides left to do.   I lose interest in sewing binding, but I have to finish it so I can wash the quilt and see how w...more
