Mango Carrot Cake

Carrot cake is one of my all-time favorite cakes. But somehow I go months, sometimes even years without making it! Italian cream cake is another one of those that happens too. Definitely a favorite, but I never think to make it ....more

Chocolate Walnut Banana Bread

Simple lemon chicken

I promise this has not become the book review blog. Although I do a lot of reading, I still like to make (and talk!) about food.  Recently we have been doing a lot of repeat or “freezer find” meals. It seems every year I freeze huge pots of soup, chili, roasts, etc and they always go uneaten. Well… not this year! ...more

Touch and Go by Lisa Gardner

There has been a slight change in the books I’m choosing to read over the last year or two. I used to stay away from the mystery/thriller genre simply because I am a wimp. Browned butter sugar cookies

We might as well call this what it is. A blog dedicated to sweets. Apparently that is all I want to talk about these days. But really, why would I want to talk about anything else? Pie Pie Pie!

Pie Flutin’ has kept me on my toes this week with orders. So much in fact that I’ve not had time to cook real meals, except for the one earlier in the week. Thank heavens it left lots of leftovers! I was able to snag a few bites in between rolling out pie doughs, making fillings, and forming tarts. The kitchen and my clothing have been absolutely full of flour. But you know what? I wouldn’t have it any other way! ...more
