The HOLIDAYS are approaching. fast. I can hear them like an on-coming ambulance, careening down the highway full-bore. And I'm standing dead still in the middle of the road like a deer in the headlights. I am SO not ready. THE question

I took the kids out for breakfast this morning. The woman at the table next to us turned around to ask if they were twins, and went on to coo over them. Because they are twins, they have always gotten alot of attention and comments: "Are they twins?" , "who was born first?" , "Aren't they adorable", "Are they fraternal or identical?" (This one always kills me- it's amazing how people don't understand about genetics and that only same sex twins can be identical), etc. It's nice. It's nice that they garner positive curiosity. I'm always very pleasant and patient and appreciative....more

Crazy Pills and Ginger Rogers

"I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!!"- Mugatu, from the movie "Zoolander." This is exactly how I have felt lately. I went through so much to have my kids. I was so focused for so long on having them, everything else in my life was put aside. After they were born, I found I was having difficulty focusing on work when I was at work. My work schedule itself, had to become severely cut back so that I could even breathe. I stayed home for the first 12 weeks with them after they were born....more
