Pea Soup....Just give it a whirl!!

I had to post about the soup I made on Sunday.  I love split pea soup, homemade, must be homemade.  I was in Buellton, CA with my cousin and passed by Anderson's Pea Soup restaurant, they have famous pea soup.  Well, I didn't get to try this soup, so once I got home I tried making my own.  The first batch I made was good, but I think the batch I made on Sunday was the best so far.  I googled around and found this recipe from Ina Garten on the Food Ne...more

The Green Smoothie?!

Today I am going to tell you about my first green smoothie experience.  I have been intersted in the green smoothie thing and finally decided to buy the stuff to make my own.  Off to the store I went, once I was done I had unsweetened vanilla almond milk, fat free greek yogurt, apples, blueberries, apples, bananas, strawberries, kale, spinach and plums. I stuffed my blender full of kale, 1/2c greek yogurt, banana, 1c almond milk, blueberries and strawberries.  Once it was mixed I added a bit of splenda and ta-da!!! My first time....blogging.

Let me first start with telling you a bit about me.  I recently (May 2013) lost my job, I worked there 10 years and with the sequestration I was laid off.  The only thing to do was pick myself up and figure out what was next.  Believe me, I panicked, calmed myself down, panicked again and continued the cycle until I got some things nailed down....more
