Klout's +K: What Is It and How Does It Work?

It is no secret to anybody that I have a huge crush on Klout. I tweet about it, I understand the basics of it, and I help promote it. I don't know why, but I was drawn to it and have so much fun with it that I want everybody else to like it too! ...more

Ending a Marriage: Standing on My Own Two Feet

She asked him to go to counseling with her, he wouldn't. She asked him to stop drinking, he said he doesn't have a problem. She asked him to help with dinner and laundry since she's working full-time and going to school full-time and he told her that's why he got married. She is sick and tired of it and she is way past sick and tired of being miserable all the time. So she said good bye. And this time, she meant it. ...more

Bloggy Guidelines for New Bloggers

I'm not exactly sure why, but these past few weeks I've had at least five or six new bloggers email me and ask me for tips and suggestions to help them grow their blogs. I have responded back to each blogger that's asked me individually, but I figure if there are a few bloggers that are asking, there are probably other people out there wondering the same things. I'm no expert , I've only been doing this for a year, but I have learned some things along the way. ...more

Just Doing It

The name of my blog is Mommy of a Monster and Twins. This is misleading. You would assume by reading that title that I have one monster kid and two good ones, when in reality my son (my monster) when I first started my blog last year is no longer a monster (most of the time). The twins, on the other hand, are both monsters. Well, I will say they are considerate enough to take turns being monsters instead of bombarding me at the same time. Usually. My past-monster, Tater, is three. The twins, Ms. L and Ms....more

Laughing So Hard It Hurts

I can't remember for the life of me what the joke was or what was so funny. The laughter and ruckus the two of us were making was so big that the dog started running around in circles and barking. We must have been in one of those punchy moods. You know the kind of mood where a pendulum must keep swinging back and hitting your funny bone and, funny or not, you can't help but laugh at whatever's going on. And when you start laughing, you can't stop. And you don't want to, either. It all started when we decided to take my friend's dog for a walk....more

Chicken Da Bomb: It's What's For Dinner Tonight

Ma, whats for dinner? The question every mom hates to hear. And then think about. Because if you don't know, chances are you'll end up making something quick and dirty (aka - not good for the family). I have two words for you: Chicken Divan. I know what you're thinking...it's old school. Boring. Something you're mom used to make and force you to eat. But not this one!...more

The Scars We Can See ... and Those We Can't

And I have one big scar that runs across my lower belly that is from the birth of my daughters. The c-section I had to have because they were both breech. I have tried to love that scar, but I can't. It's ugly. You see, my skin keloids, and so the scar is not a thin, flat, straight line, but rather an ugly red, hard, lumpy thing. I can't yet see the beauty of it; that without that scar, the birth of my daughters would've been painful and possibly catastrophic to our lives. ...more
Amen sister! The scares that hurt the most are the ones unnoticeable to the watching eye. ...more
