Happiness Depends on Perception

Even on bleak days, there are certain facts that I stand on. I am alive, healthy, not living on the street but in a large old, quirky house, with acres of gardens, trees and meadows. I am still married after almost 35 years with 9 healthy, successful adult kids and 5 grandkids.  I am loved by my family and God, even if I drive them crazy with my eccentricity. I have a computer, two hands with all my fingers to type...more

Honouring Great Writers…and Old Friends

I have not figured what is going on but seven  long time blogging friends who happen to be great Catholic writers all clicked on my blog today. That fact reminded me that even though I created an award for Catholic writers, I only gave it out to 3 people! SOO, I am passing on this award to connect with old, neglected friends by honouring their commitment to writing about the truth, articulately but also with love....more

Advertisers have tapped into a universal craving to stop the relentless ravages of time in the human body by pushing countless gimmicks to keep us youthful. Nan is 100 years old!!

My 61 year-old husband’s grandmother is turning 100 in a couple of weeks!!  Hard to feel old when your grandma is still alive. Trust me; you don’t get to be that old by being a shrinking violet. Nan is a rosary praying, fast car driving woman to be reckoned with. She stubbornly lived alone in a big house till her mid nineties when she broke her hip one too many times. She even bought a sports car at 90 years old  and proceeded to get speeding tickets in the next couple of years till they finally took away her licence....more
