Anniversary Gifts

Hubby and I are going out to celebrate our wedding anniversary tonight.  Sure, it's a week away, but we made the grave mistake of getting married so close to the holidays and therefore, must celebrate when we have the chance.  We are going Christmas shopping this afternoon, followed by dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, then probably a movie and some wine after we get home and get the kids to bed (unless we all decide they can hack it and sleep through the night at Nana's and Papa's house.....wouldn't that be some kind of fabulous?)....more

I'd Rather Have No News...

They say that no news is good news, and frankly, I've come to believe that I'd rather live in the dark and have no knowledge of the situation rather than be knee deep in the trenches.  I'm so over my toddler's issues and wish I could just take it all away and allow him to live a life without worrying....more

He might be Autistic....?

A few years ago, Hubby and I noticed that our middle son had some ongoing issues.  At first, it was humorous to find him wandering through the house, shutting some doors, keeping others open; some light switches left on, while others were turned off.  He eventually grew out of that phase and Hubby and I moved on.  Then, when he started preschool in preparation for kindergarten, we started noticing some social issues.  These issues didn't necessarily go away and Hubby and I began to worry....more

I Have Momnesia. It is Real. Deal With It!

I once saw a Dr. Phil episode (I was probably folding laundry, not popping bon bon's) and he was talking about the phenomenon known as "Momnesia."  From my recollection (as I suffer from this condition and can't always remember), he said it is, in fact, real and that moms do deal with a certain amount of memory loss due to having children.  So, if Dr. Phil says it's true, that's good enough for me.  I have always blamed my bad memory on my kids anyway, and now I have the support of a famous psychiatrist! ...more

Let me begin by saying that I absolutely love my husband more than anybody else in this world.  He is my best friend, my confidant, my partner, my lover, my boyfriend, my wake up call, and my goodnight kiss.  He is my beacon and my compass and I will always cherish him.  ...more

I Rock These Sweats....And I'm Mom Sexy!

This morning I read a post on  regarding what makes us all "Mom Sexy" and it was paying homage to and it was FABULOUS.  We are all mom sexy in our own rights as we hustle kids out the door, making sure they have their homework and lunches in their backpacks, then rush back home to get our morning going with cleaning, phone calls to arrange play dates, and errands organized.  ...more

A Day In the LIfe...

Yesterday I had to make a last minute run to the drug store down the street from our house.  My middle son apparently has a wart (ew!) on his thumb and it needed attention.  As I was leaving, my husband made sure to ask if I could take our toddler with me.  My response was something like, "Really?  You can't keep him?"Obviously not, because I ended up taking him.  You know drugstores are the worst place to take a toddler.  There are so many cheap toys, trinkets, and candy, that it is impossible to accomplish your mission and not have some kind of situation occur. ...more
