What is your child's safety worth?

On Thursday, I received a curious thing in the mail: a letter from the manufacturer of the car seat Adrien was sitting in at the time of the wreck (Dorel Juvenile Group). I was expecting one envelope from them -- containing shipping labels with which to return said defective seat -- but I received two. I also received a box from them that day, but more on that later. ...more

Such a Complainer, I am.

Why I always feel like I have to cram as much "me-time" as possible into nap time is beyond me. Well not beyond. Let's face it -- when else do I get "me time"? Lately I've just been feeling a little gypped. All I have energy for is to lay down and take a nap myself. Quality me time? Sure. But every day? Seriously, there has to be something more quality than a nap. Granted, sleep is mucho importante -- especially when pregnant. But exciting? No. I wake up feeling like I've wasted all 2-3 hours of precious golden me-time with my eyes shut. ...more

Momma's Dirt File...online

So I guess it's the cool new thing to have those vodka laced play dates. You know, the ones you only hear about on the news...the ones where the moms sip martinis while the kids play with their blocks. No longer is it cool to be a conservative mom -- it's hip to let loose. ...more

Wallowing Domestic

I'm hosting a Pampered Chef party tonight. I think it will be lots of fun, they always are. I always like the bonus of free stuff, although I'm not sure how much hostess credit I'll get this time because my friends and I are all collectively broke. Oh well, you can't go wrong when someone comes to your house to cook and showcase cool kitchen gadgets. If nothing else, it will be fun. And maybe I'll earn enough hostess credit to get a free cutting board -- I really need a good one. ...more

Back to me

So Andi and I were havin' a little chat in the car on the way back home yesterday. I brought up a subject; however sore it may be. It's something I realized the other day -- an epiphany, if you will. I don't remember who I was talking to, or if I was talking at all. I could have been typing. Either way, I was asked about hobbies. Mine, specifically. And to my astonishment, I could not list anything but blogging. I have a huge list of things that I used to do, or things I would like to do. Nothing I actually do. ...more
