Starting a good long weekend in AZ - all girls weekend, 2nd annual sisters' reunion, with nieces along for good measure. I like this tradition, it's been too long in the making! Bringing broken gold to trade in for a jewelry party. Going through the old watches and trinkets, memories come alive...gifts from grandparents, mementos from former relationships (mine and others') that connect the broken links in the charm bracelets of our lives, connecting us despite divorce, death, and plain old tarnish of the years. Holding the old gold rings, rubbing them as if to bring the genie back from our bottled past, reading the tiny inscriptions and promises that never really went away, I'm a part of all that came before, and all that will come next. What will I leave for those who remember me, what stories will they tell that will coax a smile, who will warm the amethysts that graced my neck, absorb the stones' properties into their spirit as the years grace them...semi-precious. What a term. I like fully-precious...something to work for, now and in the future, when I'm a winking, blinking diadem in the universe, reflecting back brightness, the bling of life fully lived.

I am a new blogger and I am a bit confused. Can somebody let me know what I need to do to post my daily blog. I do not have a URL. How do I get that..

What is NaBloPoMo? Is this an abbreviation for something.

Can I blog about anything or does it have to be on a particular subject or theme.

Happy New Year 2102 to all readers.

taurus Hi Taurus! Welcome to BlogHer! NaBloPoMo stands for National Blog Posting Month! It is a great way to kick off the New Year and post for the full month of January. If you are interested in participating please add your name to the blogroll!

Your URL would be the site you blog from whether it be wordpress or blogger. As well you can share your posts on BlogHer by creating posts from clicking on the top right hand corner under your profile picture "creat blog post."

As suggested before - the best way to get familiar with the site is to scroll down to the bottom right and click FAQs. It will fill you in on all of the features of the site. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask :)

I have three blogs and and my goal is to post to at least one of them every day. I've long neglected them and look forward to NaBloPoMo being my source of motivation and inspiration for getting back on track with my writing. Looking forward to reading many of your blogs, too, and wish you all success over the next month -- may we all have a great beginning to our new year! :-)

I just signed up under humor - and now feel as though I made a critical mistake! I'm already worried that I won't be able to be witty for 31 days straight. Gah! (Forgive me, there wasn't a "schizophrenic" category option!)

Whew, I am having a heck of a time trying to post this comment. Hope that's not a sign. LOL Anyway, I have joined in for the first time ever. It's a little overwhelming but I like a challenge. I look forward to making new bloggie friends. Happy New Year.
