NaBloPoMo ~ That princess should really try to rescue herself one of these days

What is your secret (or not-so-secret) passion?

Video Games. I loooove video games. You wouldn't think it to look at me but I'm a huge gamer. You know, when I have the time to be, what with the babies suckin up all my spare time these days.

There was a time, back in the day, when it wouldn't be unusual for me to stay up all night playing with the Nintendo. Or be on my computer with my SIMS. The Sims, by the way, also lets me indulge in my secret passion for architecture. But that's another post. :)

Video games. If I had all the time in the world, and thumbs of steel, I would play video games. Lots of them. A few months ago our PS3 came down with the yellow light of death (ylod). I finally got around to bringing in to a repair place last week, but got the call yesterday that the motherboard is dead. So, now we have to shell out for another PS3 which sucks cause those things ain't cheap. And since it's our DVD player, our Netflix player, our Blu-ray player as well as our game console, we really do need to replace it. It's the heart of our entertainment system. If I ever get the guts to cancel our cable, it will be my only lifeline to the entertainment world. Yes, I am that hooked on it.

But back to the games. I love me some video games. Not that I'm very good at them. It takes me forever to get through a game (if I ever do finish it) but I certainly get my money's worth for the entertainment value of the things.

I'm looking forward to the day when I can start buying my kids video games to play. Yes, I'm going to be that mom. I'll let my kids play all they want (within reason of course) and let their friends come over and eat all my snacks. And, as a side bonus, a gold coin if you will *insert eyebrow waggle here* I can take it away for punishments. That will work wonders for keeping my boys in line I'm thinking (or hoping!).

Yup, video games. All the way from Pong to Resistance 3.

I've come a long way baby!
