NaBloPoMo Prompt 9: I commented. Now what?

Today's NaBloPoMo Prompt is, "After you leave a comment, do you go back to check and see if people responded to your comment? Why or why not?"

So this week is really boring....

Short answer: no.

  1. That's what email is for.
  2. I can't remember where I leave comments half the time.
  3. If I didn't subscribe to the email updates, it means I don't care about the response. Which is probably because...
  4. ...the response is very frequently nothing interesting. Just a, "Thanks" or a misunderstanding. (You wouldn't believe how many people misunderstand my comments. In fact, just yesterday someone translated, "I not very good at sewing" to mean, "I'm afraid of learning how to sew." Uh. What? No. I don't have a sewing machine and I don't have much opportunity to practice sewing by hand. I'm not very good at it means I'm not very good at it. Mind-blowing, I know. What is this strange world where people say what they mean?)

That's basically it. There have been instances where I've checked back, but only if I needed a response or I was actually having a  conversation. Again, though, email subscriptions save me from having to do that. Which is nice.

Do you ever check back? Why or why not?
