If you have high blood pressure, you may find it interesting that a recent study found garlic may reduce blood pressure as effectively as medication.  That's right. The study published in the Pakistan Journal of Pharmaceutical Studies  found that participants who took garlic supplements experienced improvements in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure very similar with participants on Atenolol, a popular hypertension drug.  Recommendations are to take a daily 400 mg garlic supplement with 3-5 mg of garlic's most active compound, allicin.  Always talk with your doctor before making any changes in prescribed medications.
