Nature's Way to Healthy Skin

Some people are blessed with perfect skin their entire lives. I sailed through the teenage years with minimal skin blemishes (wait, wait, before you slug me!) but when I got to my 30′s my face seemed to go completely insane. Fortunately, there are a number of great healthy foods to help your skin looking its best. If you really want to give it a boost, there are products on the market containing the same active ingredients – so why not try the one-two punch for gorgeous skin?
From Within: These green leaves are chock full of both iron and vitamin C, both of which promote collagen production. What is collagen? It’s the nifty little protein that helps keep your skin elastic and youthful. It is also super low in calories and easily added to a smoothie with other skin-boosting ingredients.
Try this Product: Omorovicza Cleansing Foam - this gentle foaming cleanser contains copper, which boosts production of collagen and elastin.
From Within: Everyone knows that an “apple a day keeps the doctor away” but in this case, they might help keep the dermatologist away too. Apples contain the highest level of pectin among all fruits. Pectin contributes to production of collagen which keeps skin looking elastic and young. Don’t toss the peel – that’s where the most pectin is found.
Try this Product: Benefit: It’s Potent! Eye Cream – a brightening eye cream containing apple extract.
3. Almonds & Walnuts
From Within: These little guys are full of antioxidants, which help combat free radicals in the environment. What does this mean for your skin? Consider antioxidants like a force field keeping out the roaming junk in the air that might be damaging your skin. Another source of essential fatty acids which help keep cell membranes healthy. Also, these nuts are a wonderful source of Vitamin E, which is a major contributor to smooth, lovely skin.
Try this Product: Ole Henriksen: Walnut Complexion Scrub – this invigorating foaming facial scrub contains walnut powder, shown to help in cell regeneration.
From Within: More fantastic antioxidants in these little blue wonders! They also contain very low amounts of fat and cholesterol, but provide many vitamins needed for healthy youthful skin.
Try this Product: Ole Henriksen: Blue/Black Berry Enzyme Mask – this gentle gel mask helps polish away impurities and helps relax facial stress.
From Within: Avocados are little globes of yummy vitamin goodness – containing potassium, folate, magnesium, C, E, B6 and Vitamin K. They’re high in fat, but don’t freak out – it’s monounsaturated fat which is the healthy kind of fat. The happy bonus to eating avocados for great skin is that they can also help lower your LDL (bad) cholesterol and raise your HDL (good). Guacamole ahoy!
Try this Product: Sponge Skincare: Ladi Avokanto – this serum contains both avocado oil and vitamin E to provide a nourishing and firming result.
From Within: Omega-3 fatty acids are all over the news, but what do they actually do? The two types of essential fats (DHA and EPA) help protect the skin from suns damaging rays, promote anti-inflammation, and also contain more of those nifty antioxidants to act as a force field against free radicals. As an added bonus, fatty acids have been shown to slow production of the hormones that contribute to oily skin.
Try this Product: Josie Maran: Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 40 – this Moroccan oil is packed full of essential fatty acids, great for all skin types AND boasting an SPF 40.
