I am not a personal trainer.
I’m not even much of an athlete… though I’m working on that.
I’m just a regular person who was overweight my whole life, and then
changed things after I split my pants in front of a room full of people
(more on that later). That split was the proverbial straw that broke
the camel’s back and I decided I’d officially had enough of being fat.
That day I weighed 262 pounds.
Most men love sports. Not all women do. But, men love women who can talk a good game. In writing this blog, I seek to bring out my inner Pollyanna and share with others those elements which make for the sunny side of life.
Consequently, this blog's contents tend to comprise topics which I'm passionate about (e.g., Hong Kong movies, travel experiences, museums, books, favorite eats, libations, and Arsenal football club) and/or can see the funny side of (e.g., linguistic foibles and cross-cultural mis-interpretations along with Hello Kitty and her ilk).
I love to run. I also love to talk about running, and have had my share of encouragers and discouragers from starting a blog to do just that. At the end of the day though, writing it all down is really fulfilling for me. Getting to share it with others is a bonus and I'm excited to have a forum in which that can happen....more
