This blog is about lots of things. I am writing it because I want to contribute to an exciting and growing group of Australian women who are blogging about becoming foster parents as solo mums by choice. Over the next few years (eeek!) I’ll be writing about how we become a forever family for a child who just needs love, safety and a place to call home. I'm a feminist, progressive, humanist who sits at the intersection of the consistent life ethic and reproductive justice movements. Turning back the clock to a time of restrictive gender roles and one-size-fits-all sexuality is not just, not possible, and not an effective way to end abortion. We need justice for women, justice for our children, and a commitment to nonviolent solutions to social problems.
Twenty Four At Heart takes a light-hearted look at parenting, mid-life and day-to-day events. It is written by a mom of three teenagers who survived a disabling car accident. Trying to laugh her way through the recovery process, the writer remains upbeat even when serious subjects arise.
