    Librarian.net

My name is Jessamyn West and I'm a rural librarian, among other things. I started this site in April 1999 when I found the URL available as I was doing vaguely work-oriented stuff at the reference desk of the community college I worked at in Seattle. Life After The Agency

Immediately after college, I embarked on my newfound career in public relations, where I spent two years at a boutique and large agency. While I found The Agency “life” to be a fast-pace and exciting environment, it was often filled with high-stress and round-the-clock make-it or break situations. It was the best of times and it was the worst of times…..in the end, let’s just say that it was not a good fit. ...more
