New to the BlogHer Food Community

I'm new to the BlogHer Food community, and wanted to introduce myself. I've been blogging about cooking light and healthy for a year now, and have really enjoyed myself. So much so, that I decided to go back to school at the ripe old age of 49 to get a nutrition and wellness certification.

My journey into cooking for health started 10 years ago when I lost 40 pounds with the Weight Watchers plan. In recent years, I developed Hypertension. Not only does it run in the family, but I have a stressful job. I started a fitness routine and really focused on cooking for health. Consequently, I no longer need medication to control my blood pressure.

My passion is to show people that healthy food can taste great. That the process shouldn't be about dieting, but eating for a healthy body.
