There comes an age when the calendar and your own lifestyle don't align.
Another birthday, a year one thought little about unless Paul McCartney was singing about some time way in the future. WAY in the future.
And suddenly, my friend, it is here and whether you lie about your age or simply avoid the subject with a swift sidestep, we know - even without former classmates or even your children there to remind you.
But hey, who says getting older means slowing down or having less fun or succombing to aching whatevers (including hearts!). Did you know Cher turns 68 this May 20, just days after her NYC concerts at Barclay's and Izod Centers? Who says we can't rock over 60?
So that's what this blog is all about. I'm a writer by trade; have been supporting myself doing what I love for more than 30 years. This is a New Road for me as my main source of income appears to be drying up as a new editor, tasked to shave the budget, is doing so at my expense. Not just me, but freelancers who have brought great personality to the state's largest newspaper. Life happens.
But faith is important when storm squalls pop up out of nowhere and threaten to swamp our small craft. Pray and move, that's my credo. And don't forget to thank GOD for the answers which will come. They always do. Coty
