Oftentimes we don’t have to travel someplace grand or distant to encounter the mysterious and unexpected.
Apricot, burgundy, sunshine gold, rust. Autumn is such a drama queen. It’s impossible to ignore it. A bush that has been invisible for most of the year in its drab, green sameness jumps out of hiding wearing a coat of flaming red. No summer garden in full flower can even compete against a maple tree with its orange crown or a golden yellow ginko against a robin’s egg blue sky.
It's time for another episode of new blogs to explore. And those two lovely opening quotes are from Traveling Through, a new to me writer and photographer. I'm a sucker for some poetic language, I'll be back to see what else this France dwelling by way of the midwest writer has to say.

It was definitely one of those moments when I couldn’t help but pause and say to myself “Wow, I’m in Panama dancing in the middle of the jungle with a tribe of Indians- LIFE IS AMAZING!!”
I am a sucker for a roadside stop or local diner. Happily, I am not alone. Here's Roadside Trail Mix, a blog devoted to those places that have more calories, more specious ingredients, just more, mostly.
I decided to be a bit adventurous with my meal after seeing this description on the menu: "The Duane Purvis All-American - A very special taste treat! 1/4 lb. of 100% ground sirloin served on a toasted sesame bun with melted cheese on top with lettuce, tomato, pickle, Spanish onion and French fries. Add thick creamy peanut butter on the lower deck and you're in for the touchdown!"
And this one, well, it's here just for the name, really: Island Obsessions. Yeah, I know what that feels like.
This week, I was stopped at a traffic light and within about a nanosecond of the light turning green, some impatient soul was laying on his/her horn because, apparently, the mass of cars wasn’t moving fast enough. I thought to myself, “This doesn’t happen in Anguilla.” and I began counting the seconds until I return to a place where things are a bit more easygoing. I am SO ready.
And finally, just because it's kind of amazing, here's India Daily Photo. It's inspirational. Don't miss the companion blog with the backstories behind the photos and so many more stunning images. Wow. Off you go, now.
