It's Christmas week!

Do you celebrate the holiday? Are you going to church?

After church, I am sitting around.

Now I want to know what you do! Leave me a comment telling me how (or if) you experience Christmas. I want to know!

Nie.. I live in Tucson, and was visiting my eldest daughter who lives in Mesa.. and we were going to see the movie Twilight over the Christmas holiday and tho I do not know you my daughter Becky recognized you and your children and pointed out to me that she follows your blog and expressed to me how much she admires you and respects you..we were at the Apatche Junction theater if that jogs your memory.. Anyway, I encouraged her to go say hi to you but she tho she is a beautiful self confident girl felt shy. So, you see.. everywhere you go whether you know it or not.. you are an inspriration those around you.. I have a feeling you were just as unique and special in the lives of others prior to the accident. I am not sure how I even got to this website.. just horsing around on the net.. but I remembered that experience and wanted to share it with you. Happy New Year to you and your beautiful family.. and you look adorable pregnant. FYI.. I am not a creeper... lol! if you are on facebook.. Robin Dillon Shipley. :)

I love the way we spend our Christmas Eve, but at the same time, I feel guilty that it no longer includes church. We spend quiet time together, we make bird-feeder pinecones, we set up the manger, read "This is the Star" , and go to a local drive-thru lights display. We also do a drive-thru nativity at a local church ( generally the w/e before Christmas), which has become our Christmas Eve substitute. I know, I know, but don't judge me. You can read my blog post about it here if you'd like: http://bringingboryahome.blogspot.com/2011/12/its-...

We go to church on Christmas Eve. Then we all get into our pjs afterwards, have a fancy dinner and unwrap presents. On Christmas we do the whole Santa thing, eat cinnamon rolls and go to my aunt's house for yet another celebration.

Yes! Gorgeous soloists and choir performances tickled my soul and sent me soaring. We missed the first 30 minutes, so we stayed for the next session so we could take the sacrament. We were running so late, and we almost skipped it, but I stopped myself from stressing and it turned out beautifully. Going to church is almost never the wrong choice. :)

I went to my ol' YSA ward since my ol Bishop's wife asked me to sing, as well as my nephew, so my whole family was together. Then I headed over to the Spanish ward in the stake. I figure, with the little Spanish I know, the messages would all be about Christ and Christmas. Other than that, my family hung out playing Kinect and eating Tamales. Tamales and family are the best way to spend Christmas!

We went to church. It was our last day of 11:00 a.m. church. We opened stockings and presents for Santa before heading for church. I directed the congregational hymns, sang in the choir, and played flute accompaniment for a quartet. By the time I got home, I was pooped! We made it home just as our family was arriving, and we opened more presents before prepping for early dinner. It was really awesome to be able to go to church on Christmas day, sing the Christmas songs on the actual day and worship Him whose birth we were celebrating. Perfect.

yes, church we has sacrament which for our ward is always a Christmas singing program the primary and choir sing together. It is lovely. We tell the Christmas story and the Choir and congregation sings really it was lovely and then the Mormon tab Choir was on after church on PBS because we live out east and don't pay for BYU. That was lovely, it was a lovely day but today is not so because I have to clean up because yesterday it was lovely!

We opened stockings, got ready & headed to church, then we came home and opened presents. The missionaries came over to spend the day with our family. Then I spent the afternoon baking/cooking turkey dinner, while my hubby helped the kid's put together their new toys. We all had fun visiting family via Skype. It was a very exhausting, but fun Christmas Day!!!

We went to our Church - Farnworth Methodist - as always on Christmas Day. The church was full of families - both those with young families - and those whose children have grown up - but who are back home for the holiday. We sang carols- the children shared their presents with the congregation - we watched a wonderful video retelling of the Christmas story - and our Minister, Rev Neil, spoke most movingly about Christ and the clothes of the cradle - the cloths he was wrapped in as a baby, and the folded clothes left as he rose at Easter.

After church the rest of the day was spent with extended family - meals, presents and time together.

It's so special when Christmas lands on a Sunday! What better place than church to celebrate this special day? After church we will be lunching with family members. I'm so grateful that my son is home from Afghanistan this Christmas!
