No, I don't want to make you a quilt. But I will show you how....

I hear it all the time. "I wish I could quilt like you. Will you just make me a quilt?"To be honest, several of my kids don't have a quilt yet. So I made it my personal mission, to share my quilting knowledge online. To create quilting patterns, and tutorials that are easy for beginners, and encourage newbies. I started a website called I had passion and excitement and enthusiasm. Then I had two more children. Bringing the running total to 8. Yep. You read it right, 8 kids. (NOw you KNOW why I hide in my studio quilting right?)

So, after a little while, I got my excitement and enthusiasm back. and I started a blog, called A Quilty Kind of Girl. I posted about my kids, and my current projects, blah, blah, blah. It was getting pretty boring. Then I got inspired and started writing my own patterns. Then my patterns started selling. Suddenly I found, everywhere I looked was quilting inspiration. I submitted a couple of designs to a site called Moda Bake Shop. They accepted my designs. That was pretty damn exciting for me. So, with all this motivation, returned the urge to share. This week, I am sharing a new mini quilt pattern on my blog. It's tiny. It's easy. It's totally perfect for a beginner. So the next time you get the urge to ask me for a quilt, this is where I will send you. To my blog, to enjoy and learn from my free tutorials. Cuz that's what a real friend would do. Show you the way, not carry you all the way there.
