Lots of pain, no gain ... yet
After years of promising myself to get fit and healthy, I’ve finally started.
A few months ago I purchased 52 Weight Loss Missions. It’s not what you know, it’s what you do is their tagline, which really struck a chord with me. Of course I know that having a double-choc banana sundae with cream is not good for me, but I eat it anyway because it tastes so good! This program offered lots of strategies and motivations that helped me identify my bad eating habits. The aim was to get me thinking, eating, and moving right.
Except, I decided not to do the moving part. Yep, I decided that I would read these motivating tips and somehow it would magically make the weight drop off. Learning and weight loss via osmosis! Not surprisingly, here I am much wiser and more motivated but still holding some of the weight. Why is this so? Because I didn’t do as I was advised. I didn’t take action.
So I decided to act. I joined a group fitness team and have started exercising. I’m not enjoying it. I don’t like to be short of breath, sweat, or run. But I’m doing it. Three times a week! My trainer thinks I’m a challenge. He wants me to cut back on both wine-ing and whining! I’ve already noticed my fitness level increasing. So I know have the right balance. The weight loss program helped me overcome my exercise excuses & made me fit exercise into my life. It’s not easy, but I’m determined to do it.
After all, it’s not what I know, it’s what I do!
