NoChocoForNaBlo (or why I failed NaBloPoMo)
I started writing this blog about having writer's block 4 days ago, with only the title written. Then lost my train of thought. This morning I realized that Evernote isn't even open on my desktop! That is the first time ever that's it's not been floating in the background waiting for tidbits from my soul.I blame the missing chocolate.
I'm not sure what is going on in my head or why I've been in the doldrums lately and not writing or photographing. But I am, and I'm not. I've been doing a lot of sitting around and doing nothing in between extremely busy spurts of life. Nothing as in nothing. Words with Friends, yeah.
Wait, I did get the Sandoval Dental Care Facebook page updated. That counts as something doesn't it? (go like it by the way, I want us to hit 100 fans!). And yet another shameless plug: Our Sandoval Dental Care Twitter account.
But then then this morning I wrote about our youngest moving to California, and the words came easily as I was remembering my first trip west when I was 17. And I realized maybe my block was self imposed.
Is it the same with the camera? Or have I just lulled myself into the "The best camera is the one you have with you" line of thought? After all the Nikon d800 doesn't fit in my pocket. I think at least 80% of my photos in 2012 are taken with my iPhone. I can't remember the last time I went on a shoot before the foggy day this week.
This block all started when I signed up for NaBloPoMo and my special ordered chocolate for November disappeared in my kitchen. I hide special treats (come on who doesn't?) for special occasions and this chocolate was going to be my special treat with my cup of espresso as I sat down daily to write in November. And I couldn't find it! Oh yes, that is such a good reason to not follow through with yet another NaBloPoMo. Lack of Chocolate. NoChocoForNaBlo.
So I failed NaBloPoMo again. But I have taken a few shots with the D800 this week. And I did find the chocolate.
Oh, and did I mention that we got a puppy?
That's another story… perhaps today I will write about him. (he's trouble).
