There is another diverse list of Caribbean bloggers to read, so let's this started!
Georgia from Caribbean Free Radio writes about how hurricane Florence is being blogged by Bermuda:
In summarising their commentary for this Global Voices article, I was prompted to consider the implications of being able to — having the mental space/time/leisure to — blog about the act of preparing for a hurricane, about the process of evacuation,
It's a very interesting article, chock-full of good links.
Over on The Pan Collective, Francine blogs about going back to school:
I spoke to my Mum, a teacher, over the weekend and she reminded me that it is back to school time at home. Call me a nerd but I used to love this time of year. Buying my new uniforms, shoes, school bag, exercise and text books, hair ribbons and pens and pencils were very
exciting
I remember that I used to drive my mom completely mad with the back-to-school purchases. Pens, pencils, notebooks, etc. etc., all had to be agonized and debated and ogled over before I could possible deign to make a choice. Ahh, good times!
Eemanee from What Crazy Looks Like blogs about Bajan women taking over the Boy Scouts. As she states it:
Here we going again with the usual "Bajan women are taking over blablabla".
Huh. I was also in scouting, and it was of mixed gender. Nobody died and the earth didn't stop moving, but perhaps that's just me.
That's it for now, fellow bloghers, but I'll be back with more of the fabulous Caribbean bloggers. Of course, it would help if my internet provider provided, you know, internet.
