My Best Trip This Week (3/3/13): CVS

I'm not doing a lot of couponing right now -- our stockpiles are overflowing so there's not a lot that I really need to stock up on, so the deals have to be extra good for me to shop. Or, I have to really need something in order to bite. But, here's what I did today. (And I'm going to try to post a coupon trip every week... just so you get an idea of what you can do.)...more

Couponing Without Coupons

We weren't planning to do any shopping today but I saw a tip posted on MashupMom that I could not pass up and boy am I ever glad we threw on our clothes and ran out to give it a try! Here's what we bought (without any paper coupons, just the deal match and Just4U deals on our loyalty card.)...more

Drugstore Games This Weekend

I was talking to Home Reared Chef about getting started with couponing and I told her I'd show her what I was planning to buy at the drugstores this weekend. (I always recommend you start out couponing at a drugstore because it's easy to be successful and easy to get the hang of couponing quickly.) So here's my process. 1) I went to Southern Savers and clicked the CVS and the Walgreens buttons on her blog....more

Games as Inexpensive Gifts with Coupons

There are some great Hasbro coupons over on Coupons.com and here are some terrific coupon matchups for ways to use them at Target. I'm sure Paul will have the Walmart matchups soon. The travel games would be great in stockings or to use throughout the year as last minute birthday gifts -- or to just stash in the car for roadtrips.~Denise BlogHer Community Manager...more

Back to School Deals?

We've been accumulating school supplies at an alarming rate -- too many good deals to pass up! Who doesn't need more free pens, right? What have been your best deals (so far) on school supplies? And have you found any place to donate extra school supplies? I'm looking for donation opportunities right now! ~Denise BlogHer Community Manager Life. Flow. Fluctuate. ...more

I Thought Our Budget was Back on Track...

Really. I did. But I forgot that better deals were coming to Walgreens and should have found some way to budget for those deals. I cut my Walgreens shopping list way back and still couldn't manage to keep us at the $125 mark. We can blame it on the toilet paper, or my EOS addiction. Or maybe the dog food I donated or the stuff we bought at Meijer that we hadn't planned on buying. Here's how it happened. Saturday Morton Grove Farmer's Market: We bought tomatoes, asparagus and some cranberry granola snack thingy....more

Can I Stick to My Budget?

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to try to stick to spending no more than $125 per week on groceries. (For me, this includes cleaning and health & beauty items as well as dog food - but not prairie dog food or bird food.) I stuck to my budget the first week and blew it the second....more

Time for More Toilet Paper?

It looks like we might find another great deal on Cottonelle, tomorrow at Walgreens. If this is true, Cottenelle for .25 a roll. That meets my buy price. I'll give it a try tomorrow (even if it puts me over budget) and let you know if it works for me. Update: We did this deal - bought 3, paid $13.50 OOP and got a $4.50 RR. We'd have done better to buy 2 in one transaction and 2 in another....more

He's a radio producer and doesn't really do much coupon blogging, though he says he does some. His radio show is at Elvis Duran & the Morning Show. Hah....more

Extreme Couponing Challenge: Week 8

This week we saw Arizona's Amber Flores from Cut, Clip, Save -- she lives in a non-double area but for this episode, her store was doing one of its big promotions so all coupons were bumped to $1 and there was a buy 10 get $5 off sale as well. That's a huge opportunity and Amber worked it. More than $2K for just over $100. Amanda aka Manders from Money Saving Amanda was back with her grandmother's grocery list plus her own stockpile list. She also bought more than $2K in product......more
