Register Now: IPC Initial Meeting and Symposium

Please join us in Washington DC on Saturday November 18th for a day of vision and faith as we plan for the future.

BlogHer friends, today I'm blogging with an invitation.

On November 7th the American people will vote for a new government. Progressive Christians across the states are hoping that Tuesday's election will bring change.

But what happens after the elections? After the voting is done, what then?

There is a Christian voice which longs to move forward to a new future of hope and design innovative policy proposals that resonate with not only Christians but that embody the kind of compassion and integrity that resonate with all people of character. The time has come for a new Christian voice to speak about civic life and public policy.

The approach is one of tolerance, diversity and reason. We see a positive, Christ-focused, gospel-centered message that is deeply rooted in the Bible and that appeals to Christians and non-Christians alike. The mission of Jesus after all was to care for the poor, inclusiveness, holiness, compassion and hope. We would like to see this mission reflected in the civic life and public policy of our leaders and this country.

The initial meeting of the IPC will be held on Saturday, November 18th in Washington DC. At this founding meeting, we intend to further develop the concept of a Progressive Christian Think Tank, develop short and long term goals, and determine the level and nature of resourcing necessary to make the dream a reality.

Institutions like these will be needed as we plan for the future.

Would you be interested in developing this vision and joining us for the day? If so, please consider yourself invited. Register for this event today!

Hoping to see you there (I'm flying to the East Coast for the day.)
