Did you know that November is National Marrow Awareness Month? For the thousands of people in the United States that are diagnosed each year with leukemias, anemias, myelomas, and other hematopoitic disorders, a bone marrow or stem cell transplant is often the final word in treatment methodology.
For the thousands of people each year who are dependent on marrow or stem cell transplant treatment, seventy percent rely on unrelated donors. This is where the Marrow Awareness Month comes in. You can help by signing up for the National Marrow Donation Registry, making a financial contribution to The Marrow Foundation, or learning more about the process of marrow and blood cell donation.
