From the World AIDS Campaign: Efforts to halt AIDS are falling far short of their targets. Over 25 million people have been lost to AIDS so far, and 4.3 million people were infected with HIV this year. The spread of HIV is quickening – with more people infected in 2006 than in any previous year. This is despite the number of promises by world leaders to provide services to curb the rates of infection and to bring down deaths.
What have you done to keep the promise to end AIDS by 2015? If you aren't involved, then get involved. If you don't have enough knowledge, then get information.
If all you can manage to do is go see a movie, then 3 Needles opens in some US theaters tomorrow. (If you are lucky enough to live in a major US city and can see this movie, please come back and share a review.)
How about reading a book, you can do that! And the band played on and There is no me without you are two places to start. (If you have other book recommendations, please share them.)
Or take a few minutes to surf some blogs that talk regularly about HIV/AIDS. My Journey With AIDS, The Tao of Jeremy, Visual AIDS and the Nata Village Blog. There's also the AIDS LifeCycle Podcast.
