Delay does blogging right?

So, shamed former Congressman Tom Delay has gone digital with his new site, http://www.tomdelay.com/.
I hate it when venom-spewing Conservatives have good grassroots sites! Is Delay a funny guy, or does he have Bill O'Reilly's gag writer drafting the site?

Sample quotes:

Arianna Huffington (the long lost 4th Gabor sister) is in quite a tizzy today. Apparently she's acquired sound intel that there are actual Christians who are employed within the Defense Department.

The thing is, this site opens with a heart-stirring treatise on the sad state of American affairs, but it appears aimed at the demographic that finds Rush Limbaugh a bit too warm and fuzzy. And subtle.

Another quote, on a documentary touring us through animal wombs:

These specials provide an excellent rebuttal to the arguments of those pro-choice apathetics amongst us. After seeing the striking images of still developing children and other animals in the womb, any viewer with a heart and conscience might well be forced to reconsider their thoughts on the beginnings of life.

In spite of its sophomoric polemics and nasty tone, the blog is a jaunty read. But I think its attempt to use witty anti-left banter to try to distract readers from the tragedy of our foreign policy will fall flat. I think the midterm elections showed those days are over, even if the Michelle Malkins and now Tom Delays of this world write witty blogs.

And now, soy makes people gay?

From another insane Conservative site, Worldnet. Terrifying, even more terrifying if true. Please let some real science debunk this:

If you're a grownup, you're already developed, and you're able to fight off some of the damaging effects of soy. Babies aren't so fortunate. Research is now showing that when you feed your baby soy formula, you're giving him or her the equivalent of five birth control pills a day. A baby's endocrine system just can't cope with that kind of massive assault, so some damage is inevitable. At the extreme, the damage can be fatal.

Soy is feminizing, and commonly leads to a decrease in the size of the penis, sexual confusion and homosexuality. That's why most of the medical (not socio-spiritual) blame for today's rise in homosexuality must fall upon the rise in soy formula and other soy products. (Most babies are bottle-fed during some part of their infancy, and one-fourth of them are getting soy milk!) Homosexuals often argue that their homosexuality is inborn because "I can't remember a time when I wasn't homosexual." No, homosexuality is always deviant. But now many of them can truthfully say that they can't remember a time when excess estrogen wasn't influencing them.

So simple, shoot me up with T

Wow! It's so easy! So all I have to do is shoot up some testosterone and I'll be less gay?

No one told me...

DeLay wants to build the anti-Moveon.org

That's what the SF Chronicle article says the site is about. It strikes me a DeLay's personal effort to distract his party colleagues from thinking of him as the potential jailbird whose overreaching helped them lose the Congress.

you're right- it's blogging as distraction

Lord help us

Confirmation that he doesn't write it

I mean, we *knew* it, but here he is, confirming our suspicions on MSNBC.
