I received an email from Ami Dar who runs the Idealist.org inviting me to imagine a better
community and a better world, and connect with others who want to help build it. The idealist.org is serving as a connector to help people find one another to imagine and take action. This project is taking the power of the social web and building bridges between people, nonprofits, and ideas.
Take a quick browse through the comments from all over the world - pretty powerful.
First, find out what they mean by a "better world."
The intent here isn't to act along - but to find other kindred spirits who have the same passion about creating this better world and connect with them. The project talks about the challenge of missed connections and the opportunities to connect. The how section uses the metaphor of the rules for using the library or a store -- and talks about the idealist's values.
The next section offers some possible solutions on how one might use the resources of the idealist in many different local communities or villages to serve as a connection point. There is some advice for getting started and what to do right now! The latter includes hosting or attending a meeting the week of Feb.5th to 11th.
I'm off to do some searching to see what other people I can find who are concerned about making a better world in Cambodia.

Thanks so much for posting about this group. Heading over there to check it out...to see if I can find others who are concerned about Darfur (and other causes I care about).
