Today is the first day of the lunar calendar, called Chinese New Year in China, or Tet in Vietnam, and many people are celebrating with special food.

With a twinkle in her eye, Anna of Morsels and Musings announces she is going to be having a Chinese Pork Festival on her blog, posting a week of pork recipes for The Year of the Pig, starting with the lovely looking Sang Choi Bau in the photo.

Jocelyn from Kuidaore in Singapore has received some truffles and is making an amazing assortment of Truffle Delicacies to eat while she celebrates the new year.

The blogging duo at My Husband Cooks are Ringing in The Year of the Pig with Crab Rangoon, as well as a few of their other favorite Chinese Dim Sum treats.

At Food Lover's Journey, Anh is celebrating with Sugarcane Prawn, which is another lettuce wrapped dish from her native Vietnam. Anh has also featured Vietnamese Cinnamon Pate', something she says always appears on her family's table during Tet.

Finally, at Masak Masak in Malaysia, Boo_licious has spotlighted Waxed Meats for Chinese New Year, fabulous photos of Chinese New Year Feasting, and New Year's Wishes with fruit and flowers.

Food and Drink Editor Kalyn Denny from Kalyn's Kitchen has her wok warmed up to cook something tonight to celebrate The Year of the Pig.

Asian food eats

We're lucky to live really close to our local International (really, Asian) District and we get to eat lots of this stuff... I love it and am part of a smallish group of folks that are eating our way through the district. Yum, yum, yum.
