Pizza photo by Eliza from Notes From My Food Diary.

Maybe it's a self-fulfilling prophecy sort of relationship, but lately I've been thinking of trying my hand at making homemade pizza, and now I'm seeing it on blogs all over the place.

The yummy-looking Fontina, Olive, and Tomato Pizza with Whole Wheat Basil Crust (in the photo) caught my eye on Notes From My Food Diary.

Catherine at Albion Cooks first made Leek and "Bacon" Pizza and then Spinach, Red Onion, and Feta Pizza.

Luv2Cook at Cooking Medley shows step-by-step the first time she makes homemade pizza.

Baking and Books has Homemade Pizza with Potatoes, Thyme, and Rosemary.

The Ultra-Cheesy Homemade Pizza looks very tempting at What We're Eating.

I think the first recipe I'll try is the White Whole Wheat Pizza Dough from Heidi at 101 Cookbooks.

Finally, for great pizza instructions, not to mention a darling eight year old assistant, check out the Homemade Pizza Recipe at Simply Recipes, where Elise also has a great list of pizza recipes from other blogs at the end of her post.

Food and Drink Contributing Editor Kalyn Denny hasn't made pizza yet, but she did take some tempting photos of Pepperoni Pizza from Pizza Hut for Friday Food Porn on her blog.

Betsy, this is serendipity, because I just found your blog tonight and linked to your escarole recipe! Thanks for the WW pizza crust recipe.

Catherine, your pizzas always look great.

I'm making pizza soon!

Thanks for linking to a few of my pizza recipes, Kalyn. Pizza is such a versatile food. Hard to believe I had a long no-pizza phase. Next I want to try egg and "bacon" pizza, but it reaaly depends on what hits me at the time!

Hi Kalyn,

My husband and I are pizza fiends and I make all sorts of doughs (whole wheat, semolina, Neapolitan, etc.). Check out my recipe for a whole wheat/whole grain dough at http://ovenstobetsy.com/blog/?p=9. It's best with bolder flavors as the crust is rather assertive. Enjoy!

I started making homemade pizza when I lived in a neighbourhood (Hintonburg in Ottawa) that didn't have *any* decent pizza places, IMHO. Since then, I've almost never ordered pizza, because with my homemade kind I can load it up with tonnes of tasty veggies, make a whole wheat crust and tailor the flavours to my preferences. I dare say I couldn't order a pizza as healthy and tasty as what my partner and I make at home. And with two people working - it doesn't take very long to make at all.
