Saturday night shoe blogging

It's Saturday night, and I'm lounging on the sofa browsing shoe blogs. I love shoe blogs, not just because I love shoes (although I do, god knows I do) but because the BEST shoe blogs are about MORE than shoes.

Although the shoes are really the point, aren't they?

First up on my list of Favorite Shoe Blogs is Julie Dam's Some Like it Haute. Dam, author of a fashion novel (also titled Some Like it Haute) pairs photos of her actual shoes with little vignettes about clothes and shopping. Her writing is engaging and her shoes are to die for.

I am also partial to Chez Shoes. Chez Shoes has been window shopping at eBay lately, and has posted some magnificent pictures of the quirky Camper shoes she's lusting after. Chez Shoes has a fantastic vintage feel that I just love. Be sure to check out her Flickr photos, too.

And finally, you can't talk about shoe blogs without talking about Manolo's Shoe Blog (subtitle: Manolo loves the shoes!). Manolo offers advice (recommending blue shoes for a bride and suitable pumps for a Passover seder) all while writing about himself in the third person and tossing off wonderful bits like this: "Speaking of the Jack Black, someday remind the Manolo to explain to you why the Nacho Libre is the most sincerely religious movie made in last the 20 years." Plus, he finds the best shoes.

Susan Wagner writes about fashion at Friday Style and about everything else at Friday Playdate. Those are her favorite pink suede J. Crew flats in the photo.

Shoe-mazing!

There are lots of shoe blogs out there...I should know since I run 2 of them! BUT, no two seem to be alike (or at least identicle). Our sites deal with the obsession of celebrity culture, red-carpet fashion and more specifically as it related to footwear (sexy pumps, manolo's, louboutins, etc).

I'm curious what regular, everyday people think of the site so please let take a look. We also recommend every day shoes that may be inspired by high fashion (but not high prices)...

About Campers. There was this massive two story store in Madrid and I lusted after them every day to and from school. Then I returned back to the states to find that there is a Campers outlet in my favorite outlet mall. Amazing I tell you.

Found Best New Flip Flops from a Blog

I don't normally read blogs on shoes, but when cruising myspace, I found info on these great new flip-flops -- essentially sports shoes with flip-flop straps, called PecheBlu's, which is blue peach in French. I wear flip-flops all the time and at the end of the day, the regular flat ones kill my feet.
