Kalyn is a fourth grade teacher, not a diet expert. But when Kalyn lost 42 pounds on the South Beach Diet, friends started asking for recipes and she decided to start a blog as a way to share her recipes online. Now she writes Kalyn's Kitchen, a food blog hybrid where Kalyn combines her love of delicious food and a commitment to lower carb, lower glycemic eating. The blog features recipes and good-enough-to-eat food photos, restaurant reviews, and cooking tips. In addition, Kalyn is an active food blogger, participating in events, and hosting Weekend Herb Blogging, where bloggers from all over the world write about herbs, plants, vegetables, or flowers.

Hi Kalyn! LOVE your blog. My hubby and I are just starting the south beach diet, and I found your blog to move us into phase 2 AND do some entertaining AND stay on track. Can't wait to try some recipes this weekend. Keep blogging away, I love it! BTW- my 9 year old daughters name is phonetically the same as yours spelled...Kaylynn. :-)
