Sometimes I get it right

Hi, I'm Laura Scott, and I'm the one who is working to put this site together. Occasionally I'll blog about that process, and Drupal, the content management system powering most of the functionality here, so I'll spare you that here.

The company I started with Katherine is pingVision, LLC; our business is interactive design and software focused on empowering people and improving the user experience. I come from graphic and media design, and we do that, too. Sometimes I blog about this stuff, but unless I come across a provocative conversation, I tend to just focus on doing it (work) rather than talking about it (not work) -- a habit I blame on a Lutheran family background.

My personal (and thus much neglected) site is rare pattern, where I blog about technology, business, community building, the Cluetrain-type stuff and subversive thoughts on the future economy (which I think will be much different from what we know today).

My other passions are politics (on which I blog on some other sites, anonymously, thank you), cooking, mountain biking (not on mountains, though), photography and hanging out drinking coffee.

Our banner ad currently at the top of the page says "websites are conversations." We're glad to help enable conversations here and be a part of BlogHer.

And a mighty fine job you're doing here, Laura, in my opinion! I must say, I'm impressed with what you've demonstrated of the capabilities of Drupal - maybe I'll take some time in the near future to investigate the platform more thoroughly.

I think you did a fantastic job on the site. It looks great. I never knew Drupal provided so many capabilities. I'm really impressed.

Question marks in comments

Hiya Laura,

I admire what you're doing here.

Is it the fact that I'm using firefox or is there just something fluky -- I'm seeing ?? in the replies to your post above. Do I need to change a setting or just use IE?

Also, I'm in the online community space as well. Have used Ramius' CommunityZero platform for about 4 years.

However, I use Firefox (Mac) and don't see any errant question marks.

Do you see this on Safari or IE?? ;)

I'm also using Firefox on Win

I've removed IE as painful as it was. So, can't help with whether the plentifully little ?s decorate the screen in IE as they do in Firefox.

I've got FF and IE

I see ??? in firefox today and have for a few days. There were ??? in the weeks before launch and a few days into launch, then the ??? went away. They've been back for a few days now.

In IE they are tiny little boxes, not ??.
