Tickets to BlogHer '07 are going fast, and we are sorry to announce that our room block at the W Lakeshore is sold out. But never fear! Plenty of spaces are still available at the lovely and accommodating Chicago City Centre & Sports Club.

As we've mentioned, the Chicago City Centre is about 5 blocks from the Navy Pier, and just steps from the Magnificent Mile.
Chicago City Centre
Note: we will be providing shuttle service from the City Centre to the Navy Pier to and from the conference.

The rooms at the City Centre are comfortable and well appointed, and the hotel itself includes a restaurant and sports bar. PLUS, anyone staying at the hotel has full (free) access to The Lakeshore Athletic Club.

The Club is a full-service sports center and day spa featuring the latest cardio equipment, aerobics room, three indoor tennis courts, and indoor track. You'll also have access to an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, and separate whirlpools, saunas and steam room.

The City Centre offers free wi-fi in the hotel lobby, and free high-speed internet access in all of the hotel rooms. (They're even beefing up connectivity for those of you who expect to spend your off-hours podcasting and videoblogging!)

Best of all, the City Centre is offering BlogHer attendees the discounted rate of $189/night from July 25 through check-out on July 29.

Making Reservations:
If you're planning to stay between 7/25 and 7/29, you can make your reservations online by clicking here.

If you'd like to extend your stay (by arriving earlier or staying later), you must call the hotel at: (312) 787-6100.

I received a response from my inquiry into any shuttle buses available, servicing the hotels:

Dear Ms. Thompson,

Thank you for your inquiry via the Whotels.com website.

There is a shuttle servise for the W Chicago Lakeshore called Airport Express that will cost around $18. To inquire about the times ring 800-654-7871. A cab is estimated at $35.

For the W Chicago City Center there is the 'Airport Express' which costs approximately $23 and the phone number is 312-454-7799.

FYI: I cross-posted this information to "ride-share" forum, as well.

Hi All,

I just updated this post -- thanks again, Birdie, for the heads-up. The problem is that the online reservation system will only recognize our discounted rate if it falls within the 7/25 to 7/29 dates. For anything above and beyond this, you'll have to call...

...or suffer the not-so-sophisticated (or accurate!) message that the block is full.

Thanks for your understanding and patience!

Kristy is checking on what the problem might be with the online interface right now. Thanks for your patience.

I just tried to reserve a room and they are totally booked for the days, they say. Where should i try next?

Maybe it also sold out already. I booked a few weeks ago through the American Girl package. I am way psyched for my free doll bed.

Yep, it's cheaper by $20 per night. But it's not available during the Blogher dates...oh well, but good to know on return Chicago trips.

A little bird told me that the City Centre is cheaper if you use the American Girls discount code. I'm sure it wouldn't be ethical to google around for that, or receive the *free* tiny American Girl doll bed on check in. Hur hur.
