I've never completely understood why people pay so much attention to the spouses or significant others of sports figures. I guess this applies to all celebrities, but when you watch an NFL game you will generally see at least one shot of the quarterback's wife or girlfriend watching the game.
I guess this can cause problems, especially if one of the wives of an athlete happens to be wearing a t-shirt with profanity on it.
Jeanette has the picture here. She says:
Alex Rodriguez’ wife, Cynthia Rodriguez, is trying to make a statement. A very bold statement. Yesterday she attended the Yankees game with her 2 year old daughter Natasha and on the back of her white tank top were the words “F*** Youâ€. Now come on…what kind of example are setting for your child? Clearly Cynthia is pissed about something, but we’re not sure exactly who the sentiment is geared towards, whether it be the media, Yankee fans, or her stray of a husband.
Cynthia Rodriguez really caused a stir with this one. I found this on a blog called Women Lifestyle, Fashion, Health, Beauty and Personality.
Cynthia ...made a bad fashion statement and getting some attention for a tank top she wore to watch the New York Yankees play the Oakland A’s. She appearing in a tight shirt with the F-Bomb written on the back of her tank top and visible over the seat to anyone who cared to look at Yankee Stadium, including the camera which snapped this photo.
Who she was sending the message to - her cheating hubby A-Rod or the ever-intrusive media - is unclear. But what is clear is that this woman is fed up. So much so that she was willing to offend those seated nearby, including young children and families. Seated next to Cynthia was the couple’s two-year-old daughter, Natasha.

I am a firm believer that foul language, be it written or verbal, has its place. If I break a glass or stub my toe I have been known to let an f-bomb fly out of my mouth. But I rarely use profanity in front of my kids and I would never wear a shirt emblazoned with the words "F%$# You" on it. This rule, I believe, should be adhered to by parents everywhere.
I would imagine that life has been stressful for Mrs. Rodriguez lately with all of the tabloid media going nuts about her husband and a stripper being seen together in Canada, but if Alex signs this $30 million deal that everybody is talking about, Cynthia will be able to afford a lot of therapy.
As an interesting side note, New York Post reporter Marianne Garvey got kicked out of a game the next night at the same stadium for wearing the exact same shirt.
I got tossed from Yankee Stadium last night for wearing the same sleazy "F- - - you" shirt that A-Rod's wife infamously sported for all the fans to see only a day earlier - and with her 2-year-old daughter on her lap, no less.
No explanation. They even called a cop on me.
I guess I wasn't allowed to stay because I'm not the pretty wife of the team's superstar player.
As a parent of young children myself, I'm not worried about this woman's two year old reading anything, and as much as I love bad words (and I do. I love them). I think this was inappropriate at best. It just seems like bad manners to me.
